Account Manager - Softlines - Laboratory

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world's top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking an Account Manager to join our Softlines Team Lab for Footwear testing, in Bentonville, AR. Intertek's Softlines Testing services enable retailers, brands and manufacturers of textiles, apparel, fashion accessories, footwear and home textiles to ensure the safety and quality of their products. Intertek performs softlines testing on items ranging from fabric samples to finished products, including apparel and footwear for children and adults (pajamas, sweaters, jeans, outerwear) and home furnishings (bedding, curtains, furniture fabric, rugs). What are we looking for?

This position is responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of accounts requiring testing services in the lab. The position serves as the primary business contact for the clients and is a critical partner for ensuring exceptional customer service level. 

Shift/Schedule:  8 am to 5 pm, local time, Mon to Fri

Salary & Benefits Information:

The base wage or salary range for this position is $50-55K, annually. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:

  • Manage assigned portfolio of accounts ensuring alignment of services with client needs and expectations for lab testing services
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients by explaining processes, proactively provide status updates on lab submissions, and providing timely responses to client queries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of client requirements and expectations based on client Manual, SOP's, Protocols, etc., and disseminate to the operation and administrative coordinators to ensure consistent implementation and execution
  • Confer with client and/or vendors prior to testing to ensure proper sample submissions, ensure proper tests are conducted. Request and obtain necessary information required for testing purpose.
  • Set up new clients in the Lab System for both operations and accounting purposes and ensure any changes in requirements from established clients are updated accordingly
  • Create and follow-up on quotes to obtain necessary approvals and pre-payment as required to open the project for the lab operations
  • Coordinate any intercompany subcontract work which includes obtaining pricing, sample requirement information, completing intercompany test request forms, completing intercompany purchase orders and communication with subcontracted labs to expedite testing as needed
  • Review draft reports for accuracy of tests performed as requested and ensure client requirements are followed 
  • Produce in PDF, Lock and deliver finalized reports to client including upload of data into portals as needed. 
  • Track all client engagement (emails to/from, calls, meetings) in iConnect CRM platform
  • Identify and develop opportunities for revenue growth from new and existing clients
  • Assist clients with the interpretation of test results as needed; coordinate investigation, analyze, and provide appropriate corrective actions in accordance with Intertek Quality Manuals
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed as required by Intertek Standard Operating Procedures and ensure quality standards are met
  • Support client presentations and lab tours as needed
  • Support Global Account Managers by providing information on client submissions, etc. as needed
  • Support of the overall operation as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required
  • Associate degree or equivalent in terms of education, experience, and/or training
  • Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related area is preferred
  • 2+ years directly related Account Management experience, with direct customer interaction is preferred
  • Experience and general knowledge of footwear, Leather, fabrics, footwear specific testing standards, and U.S. & Canadian regulatory requirements on consumer products is preferred
