Intertek's Exploration and Production global business line provides analytical testing and knowledge-based consultancy services along the entire oil and gas value chain - from reservoir to refinery.

Intertek is searching for a Corrosion Engineer to join our Exploration and Production team based out of the Westport office in Houston, Texas.  This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in Exploration and Production business line of the upstream and midstream process of refining.

The Corrosion Engineer is responsible for directing and leading activities of Asset and Integrity Management.

 HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO ON THE JOB:

  • Provide technical oversight and coordination of project work instructions.
  • To oversee and perform testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodology or work instructions.
  • To assist in the training of less experience employees.
  • To work with clients to develop analytical programs and work flows to meet client objectives
  • To work closely with Sales and Business Development.
  • Attend local and regional workshops and conventions.
  • It is highly encouraged to work with clients and internal staff for industry publications.
  • To carry out the above responsibilities, and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and strategy, and to exercise good judgment, commons sense, and diplomacy in so doing.
  • Perform other duties as required.

     HERE'S WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE:

  • Master's Degree or Doctorate Degree  in  a corrosion related discipline (Chemical, Biomolecular or Mechanical Engineering)
  • 10+ years prior laboratory experience in Asset and Integrity Management (Corrosion)

  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management 
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats
  • Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate
  • Work with HPHT equipment, Autoclaves, flow meters, flow loops, and caustic fluids
  • Preform RCA, HPRCE, and other corrosion and inhibitor testing
