  • Perform technical due diligence on energy storage systems, components, and configurations, including battery management systems and performance guarantees.
  • Lead onsite quality control audits to inspect and test energy storage materials, equipment, and processes.
  • Assess contractual agreements between energy storage system buyers and suppliers to identify potential risks.
  • Develop technical reports on energy storage hardware/software, system design, and performance analysis.
  • Maintain relationships with ESS equipment suppliers and stay updated on industry advancements in battery chemistry, power conversion systems (PCS), and energy management systems (EMS).
  • Support the development of energy storage-related content, including white papers, presentations, and webinars.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to manage multiple projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious execution.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in energy storage system design, performance analysis, and modeling for large-scale (>10MW) systems, ideally solar & storage, OR 3+ years of experience with lithium-ion or alternative battery technologies.
  • Basic understanding of electrochemistry for batteries and basic performance testing, as well as energy storage performance metrics, including round-trip efficiency, cycle degradation, depth of discharge, and state of charge.
  • Ability to perform detailed technical due diligence on energy storage systems and provide industry-leading reports.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.  PMP certifcation is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for site visits and client engagements. Ability to work outdoors including but not limited to desert areas, long hours standing, climbing stairs and ladders when visiting client sites.
