The Lead Quality Engineer manages and mentors a team of engineers executing quality assurance projects for large-scale energy storage systems. This role combines hands-on technical oversight with leadership responsibilities—providing guidance, reviewing deliverables, and driving continuous improvement across QA operations.

What You'll DoLead and mentor engineers performing QA projects, providing training, technical guidance, and quality oversight.
Oversee and execute QA/QC projects including Factory Audits (FA), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), In-Process Monitoring (IPM), and Pre-Shipment Inspections (PSI) for battery cells, modules, racking, and containerized systems.
Review and approve QA reports, checklists, and deliverables to ensure consistency and technical accuracy.
Collaborate with Project Operations and Account Management teams to improve QA processes and client deliverables.
Travel to client and manufacturing sites to lead inspections, audits, and commissioning activities.
Provide technical consulting to internal teams and clients on energy storage QA/QC standards and compliance.
Develop and refine tools, templates, and methodologies that enhance QA service delivery.
Serve as a subject matter expert on QA processes for complex manufacturing and energy storage environments.
Travel: Up to 80% (domestic and international)
Minimum Requirements & QualificationsBachelor's degree in an engineering field required (electrical, mechanical, chemical, industrial, or related).
5+ years of professional QA/QC experience in manufacturing, energy storage, automotive, or a closely related industry.
Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience in a technical or QA/QC capacity.
Strong communication and leadership skills; excellent organization, documentation, and client-facing ability.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and QA data management tools.
Proven ability to plan, execute, and oversee QA/QC activities such as FA, IPM, PSI, and FAT.
Comfortable working in field environments, including outdoor and industrial settings requiring PPE.
Direct QA/QC experience with lithium-ion battery production or large-scale energy storage systems (strong plus).
Experience interpreting and validating data from QA/QC testing tools and inspection processes.
Prior experience leading QA/QC teams and reviewing or approving technical reports.
Knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy systems (O&M or commissioning experience desirable).
Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, NABCEP, fall protection, arc-flash, or lock-out/tag-out training desirable.
