TITLE:                       Project Engineer, Materials

 

Duties:                     Perform a variety of Building & Construction assignments that include independent evaluations using standard techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment to make minor adoptions and modifications to these standards. Prepare and review engineering reports, project plans and specifications prepared by others. Prepare scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments. Prepare proposals to provide professional services. Review recommendations with Principal Consultant. Maintain and leverage client relationships and develop new project opportunities. Attend client site meetings. Communicate effectively with client and project teams. Work on one or multiple projects at a time. May perform on-site observations, sample collection, and specific tests and work both in the field and laboratory regularly. Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work. This position requires 10% domestic travel. 

 

LOCATION:               Intertek Testing Services NA, Inc., 3730 Dacoma Street, Houston, Texas 77092

 

REQUIREMENTS:     Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering degree and two (2) years of experience as a Reliability Engineer, Piping Engineer, Consultant or related role where required experience gained.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS:     Also requires experience in the following:

 

  • EIT (Engineer in Training) certification;
  • Two (2) years of demonstrated experience with U.S., Canadian, and other International engineering codes and standards;
  • Two (2) years of analyzing data, defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions;
  • Two (2) years of interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form;
  • Two (2) years of making technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters.
