- Certifications Required - BLS, ACLS, OCN, ONS Chemo
- Job Details
- Staffing ratios - goal is 1:4, but can be 1:5
- Weekends - variable based on unit needs
- No set/blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff
- Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule
- First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Floating to other Med/Surg and Oncology Units
- Patient Diagnoses include Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Acute leukemias, Chronic Leukemias, Sickle Cell Disease, other non-hem cancers, and Other benign hematology
- Special Procedures/Unit Details include Chemotherapy, Blood transfusions, IV Antibiotics, Oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome, Insulin drips, Heparin drips, Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls
- Job Requirements
- Skills Required - MS/Tele, Telemetry, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Telemetry - on the unit monitoring, Use of Rapid Response Teams, Feeding tube care and management, IV therapy/Phlebotomy, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Starting IVs
