- Required certifications: BLS
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: PNA, COPD, CHF, ortho (shoulders, hips, knees), appy, chole, diverticulitis, bowel resection, pancreatitis.

- Medical Surgical nurse needed for 13 week travel assignment in mid-size hospital.

- Job Requirements
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: MS/PCU/Tele or CCU experience
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin per protocol
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Charge available on both shifts. Supervisor available on nights.
- Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: Day and night shift PCTs with 1:12 max ratio.
- RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc): Chronic Bipap and cpap.
- Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips?: Remote monitoring tele. Monitor tech on CCU to provide analysis. MS nurses are not responsible for interpretation.
- Schedule Information
- Shifts & Scheduling: 6a-6:30p; 6p-6:30a: self-scheduling as appropriate (variable upon census/staffing availability)
- Weekend Requirement: Weekend rotation (variable based on staffing): currently requires 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
- Holiday Requirement: Rotation based on calendar
- Is there a call or standby requirement?: If cancelled, may be placed on call (with 45-minute return after notification (per policy)

- Ratios: Days 1:5 Nights 1:6

- Floating Requirements: Within MS scope of practice
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Navy Blue
- Unit/Department specific orientation: 1 shift of clinical nursing education then 2 shifts on the unit with a preceptor;3 12hr shifts
