Description

The Supervisor, Clinical Administrator II leads the smooth operations of the Nursing Department, patient flow, and the hospital in general. The Supervisor, Clinical Administrator II reports directly to the Director of Nursing Administration and works closely with Staffing Coordinators and leads Clinical Administrator Supervisors to ensure there are appropriate resources for running smooth operations. This position has 24-hour responsibility and is expected to participate in all aspects of problem resolution such as strategically creating solutions, communicating with key stakeholders, and initiating action, implementation, and follow-up. The Supervisor, Clinical Administrator II must possess excellent communication skills and be able to motivate their teams to drive results.

Essential Duties:

  • Manages nursing resources to maintain and improve the recovery process of patients in congruence with the medical staff's plan of care.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with all individuals to meet the USCUH mission and annual priorities.
  • Utilizes safety, customer satisfaction, and budget/fiscal responsibilities to help guide the problem solving process to achieve staffing objectives and patient processing.
  • Coordinates and directs staffing needs by demonstrating problem solving and decision making skills and will communicate significant events through the chain of command to nursing director, department managers, physicians and the administrative team.
  • Role models and coaches staff to develop clinical, managerial, and leadership skills employing fairness, honesty, and consistency in interactions with others.
  • Contributes to performance management, including developing individualized action plans to support staff development to meet or exceed quality, performance and organizational goals.
  • Evaluates the efficiency of nursing operations and supports cost-effective resource utilization and financial outcomes through the monitoring of meal periods, incidental overtime, contract hours and compliance with organizational and departmental attendance and punctuality standards. Keeps Leaders aware of trends and ensure performance management (up to written disciplinary action) as needed.
  • Coaches and mentors department staff to make cost effective decisions and use resources prudently as it relates to supplies, scheduling practices and compliance with organizational and departmental timekeeping standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN)
  • Req 3-5 years Experience as a registered nurse AND
  • Req 1 year Experience in a Leadership (Management) role, preferably in an acute care setting
  • Req 2 years Experience as a Clinical Administrative Supervisor in an acute care setting OR
  • Req Effective communication skills.
  • Req Organizes and prioritizes work efficiently.
  • Req Functions as a positive role model and resource for all team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref Master's Degree in Nursing or related field, or in progress, strongly preferred Master's Degree in Nursing may be in lieu-of Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Pref 1 year Experience in an intensive care setting
  • Pref Certification - Job Relevant Clinical certification

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Registered Nurse - RN (CA Board of Registered Nursing)
  • Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
  • Req Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association
  • Req Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) Required within six (6) months of hire.

The annual base salary range for this position is $145,600.00 - $240,240.00.
