Schedule: Part time, 24 hours a week (several days a week)
Pay Rate: $26-27.00 per hour

SUMMARY:
The Accounting Assistant will help with various accounting tasks and office duties to support the accounting department. This role involves maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and handling customer and vendor inquiries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accounts Receivable: Manage reports for sales, open invoices, and aging accounts.
  • Deposits: Process checks and prepare deposit slips.
  • Customer Service: Address and resolve customer complaints and ensure satisfaction.
  • Accounts Payable: Process and verify invoices for payment.
  • Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors to resolve account discrepancies.
  • Expense Reimbursements: Review and process employee expense claims.
  • Data Entry & Filing: Input accounting information into systems and maintain organized files.
  • Monthly Reports: Assist with month-end close and generate reports.
  • General Office Support: Answer calls, distribute mail, and assist with clerical tasks like filing and photocopying.
  • Special Projects: Help with additional accounting projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.
  • One-year certificate or related experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong attention to detail and good math skills.
  • Experience with MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
