Position Type: Direct Hire

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing the accounting and reporting activities. The Accounting manager will lead the month-end close and reporting process into OneStream for all company entities, including the review and approval of account reconciliations, review of balance sheet analyses, and quarterly SOX analysis, directing the activities of the General Ledger Team. The Accounting Manager will direct the activities of the General Ledger Team, serve as a key partner providing financial expertise, recommendations, and solutions to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervisory Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the senior accountants (site controllers) who are responsible for financial reporting and operations support for their respective location(s)
  • Provide career development opportunities, conduct performance evaluations, and lead annual goal setting
  • Coordinate training for current and new accounting staff
Month-end and quarter-end close process
  • Ensure that reported results are accurate and comply with US GAAP
  • Participate/Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities including journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Conduct detailed reviews of balance sheet and trial balances during month end close
  • Review and approve balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Audit and review monthly product line gross margin statements by entity
  • Analyze monthly gross margins and other key metrics and provide reporting to finance and operations management on a periodic basis.
SOX Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve internal controls for accounting transactions
  • Review individual entity quarterly SOX analytics P&Ls/BS and summarizes at the total NxEdge level
  • Coordinate information requests from internal and external auditors, in collaboration with other team members
 Other
  • Support preparation of monthly forecasts and annual operating plan
  • Provide high level training to non-Finance functions
  • Maintain accuracy of Epicor ERP system
  • Develop and execute automation of accounting processes and functions
 
SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Adherence to company values of Safety, Excellence and Respect 
  • Maintain Ethical Standards. Doing what is right. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance (CPA preferred)
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in general accounting
  • Experience managing accounting personnel
  • Ability to apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles & Cost Accounting Standards
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to research, compile, analyze and interpret data
  • Good written, verbal communication and collaborative skills
  • Strong PC skills with Microsoft Office required
  • Knowledge of Epicor or ERP experience preferred
  • Strong organizational and communicational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
