Kelly's customer, a leading provider of comprehensive, innovative and integrated payments solutions and services organization has a temp to perm opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist who will manage all aspects of Account Payables, from processing invoices to issuing payments in a timely and efficient manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts Payables

  • Processing vendor invoices, employee expense reports and various government remittances promptly and efficiently. It includes verification of invoices received, circulating invoices for approvals, invoice coding, batching, and creating invoice entries in the accounting system.
  • Managing weekly cheque run, issuing payments via cheque and EFT in a timely manner to avoid late payments and penalties.
  • Keeping track of all payments and expenditures to ensure accuracy and minimize the possibility of issuing duplicate payments.
  • Responding to all vendor inquiries related to invoices and payments, working with all stakeholders to resolve any disputes and discrepancies that may arise and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Preparing journal entries and reconciliation for company credit card usage.
  • Maintaining and organizing historical records.
  • Continuing to improve the payment process.
  • Assisting with year-end audit and other tasks as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in an area related to assigned duties. Formal education and knowledge in accounting are preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS Teams.
  • A basic understanding of Canadian sales taxes is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate and interact with others.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when an issue arises.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Action-oriented and results-driven.
  • Minimum two years of related experience in Accounts payables.
  • Experience working with accounting software and knowledge of MS Dynamic GP and AP automation tools such as Beanworks, SAP Concur, and similar applications would be an asset.

PERKS:

  • 6 months temporary position with potential to convert to a permanent position
  • Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 5pm.
  • Hourly temporary pay rate ranges from $25.00 - $28.00 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay on each pay cheque.
