Job Title: Administrative Assistant I / Purchasing Expeditor
Location: Norwood, MA
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Overtime as needed)
Pay: $25.00/hour

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant I / Junior Buyer / Purchasing Expeditor to support the Purchasing Manager in all aspects of purchasing and inventory control. This is a team-oriented role with frequent cross-functional collaboration.
Position SummaryThis position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling repetitive tasks while multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.
Key Responsibilities-
Initiate purchase orders and manage purchasing of materials

Expedite high-priority purchase orders

Generate and follow up on overdue reports with suppliers

Perform regular inventory cycle counts

Update kitting and wire short shelf

Research and compare prices and specifications from catalogs, vendors, and online sources

Resolve invoice discrepancies, shortages, and returns in collaboration with Accounts Payable

Prepare reports and compile data using Microsoft Excel and other software

Maintain and order office and janitorial supplies

Assist with additional manufacturing-related tasks as assigned

High School Diploma or GED required
-
Minimum 2 years of experience in an office support, administrative, or purchasing role

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred but not required

Strong math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measuring)

Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to multitask, manage repetitive tasks, and meet deadlines

Must be a cooperative, dependable team player with a positive attitude

Close and color vision

Ability to sit or stand in one area for extended periods

Reach for parts on shelves

Lift up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
