About the Role:
As an Aircraft Technician – Mechanical Specialist II (FAA ONLY), you will be the go-to resource for precision set-up, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of Automatic Drilling Units (ADUs) within a fast-paced manufacturing facility. You'll work closely with shop managers and cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of mechanical support and troubleshoot technical challenges as they arise.
What You'll Do:
- Set up and calibrate ADUs, drilling templates, and associated cutting tools for use in the shop environment.
- Collaborate with station leads to implement equipment according to best practices and contribute to floor setup strategies.
- Oversee the qualification and entry into service of ADUs with suppliers and participate in ongoing maintenance, repair, and adjustment activities.
- Provide training, oversight, and limited instruction to new users of ADU equipment.
- Support technical problem-solving for shop leadership and teammates, drawing upon your expertise in ADU systems, tools, and templates.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for tasks and equipment usage.
- Demonstrate authority and skill level in ADU maintenance and shop protocols, serving as a reference point for others.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or technical certification in mechanical or metals field highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance, ADU or test equipment repair, or similar vocational experience.
A technical certificate may substitute for experience for entry-level consideration. - Proficiency in English, both written and verbal communication.
- Solid ability to use general business software (Word, Excel, Acrobat, etc.).
- Exceptional flexibility and ability to adapt to evolving priorities in a production-driven shop.
- Strong initiative, reliability, and capability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Extreme attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions precisely.
- Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, but capable of autonomous task completion.
- Physical ability to work at a computer, distinguish details in shop settings, and interact with others as work requires.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10% of the time).
