Assembler II

Location: 1046 W. London Park Dr., Forest, Virginia, USA 24551
Employment Duration: 3-month temp-to-perm
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour

Summary
The Electrical Assembler II is responsible for assembling a variety of subassemblies and finished products for the Production Department. This includes performing functional tests to meet specifications, conducting quality checks, and ensuring on-time deliveries. The position reports directly to the Production Leads and the Production Manager.

Essential Functions
Report to work consistently and on time.

Follow SIG's Cardinal Rules and safety procedures.

Work in a fast?paced and physically demanding environment.

Interpret and work from assembly drawings, verbal instructions, work instructions, and production boards.

Assemble subassemblies and finished products to established standards, preventing scrap and rework.

Proactively identify and communicate process improvements and cost reduction opportunities.

Report malfunctioning tools or machinery immediately to a supervisor.

Communicate effectively and demonstrate teamwork.

Work independently or collaboratively as needed.

Exercise judgment and initiative in a dynamic work environment.

Participate in safety, departmental, and team meetings.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area, following 5S principles.

Package finished products with all required components and documentation.

Record production data daily.

Perform operating and functional tests according to product checklists.

Read and understand blueprints, shop drawings, and product specifications.

Maintain knowledge of tolerances and part-specific requirements.

Cross-train and mentor less experienced employees.

Take a leadership role in safety observations, JSAs, and reporting.

Perform Level 1 assembly functions and qualifications effectively.

Troubleshoot basic electrical issues and conduct continuity tests using appropriate instruments.

Perform operational and functional testing of completed equipment.

Apply basic shop math skills and use basic PC applications.

Work scheduled overtime as required.

Position Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience: 2–3 years in a manufacturing assembly environment.

MH:
2–3 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing assembly, preferably in electrical assembly.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications accurately.

Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including the use of ohm-meters and other testing instruments.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work with minimal errors.

Capability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment while meeting production deadlines.
