Kelly Services is actively recruiting for a Backup Analytical Lab Technician for a Long Term Contract opportunity in Hayward, CA.
Position: Backup Analytical Lab Technician
We are looking for a contractor with a minimum of a high school diploma and 2-5 years' experience in a related field. Specific hands-on experience in at least one analytical technique (HPLC or GC) is essential, and prior experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
The candidate will perform hands-on experiments in a lab setting as needed. They will be required to follow safe lab practices and maintain accurate laboratory records. Daily work includes, but is not limited to, formulation physical properties characterization (pH, particle size, solids content), and analytical sample preparation and analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on experiments in a lab setting.
- Follow safe lab practices.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records.
- Generate and report analytical and physical/chemical data to support shipping certifications for manufacturing.
- Serve as a backup analytical technician as needed.
- When not covering the lab, assist other departments where help is needed.
Training:
- 12 hours per day for 6 weeks.
Working Hours:
- Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
- Working hours when covering the lab: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

- Prior experience in physical and chemical characterization (e.g., FTIR, GC, HPLC, or GC/MS).

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility in handling various tasks, adapting to different roles as needed, and being available when needed, including working on different shifts.
Education:
- Required: High School diploma.
- Preferred: College graduate in Chemistry
Pay Rate:$25
