Position: Billing Specialist
Location: Remote 
Schedule: Monday - Friday  |  7:00AM - 4:00PM
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $25.00/HR

As a Billing Specialist, you'll be:

• Posting personal payments and insurance payments with accuracy.
• Maintaining and updating the payer database.
• Contacting insurance carriers, clients, and patients for payment follow-up or investigation.
• Conducting payment reconciliation and matching bank balances to deposits.
• Processing deposits and batches using correct payment transaction types.
• Researching and processing overpayments and recoupment from insurance carriers.
• Analyzing EOB information, including co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, contractual adjustments, and denials.
• Assisting in setting up Electronic Remittance Advices (ERA) for Commercial and Medicare payors.
• Addressing posting inquiries from cross-functional teams.
• Identifying and resolving customer and insurance posting concerns.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Bachelor's or a Certified Professional Coder or 2-year Degree from an Accredited Medical Billing School.
• Have 3-5 years of payment reconciliation and receipts posting experience
• Experience in the Healthcare Industry or similar REQUIRED
• Have familiarity with ICD and HCPC/CPT coding (preferred)
• Have familiarity with CMS 1500 claim form (preferred)
• Have familiarity with Claim Adjustment Reason Codes (NUCC) (preferred)
• Have experience handling and expediting escalated issues with follow-up to the customers
