Manufacturing Technician I – Downstream – Lenexa, KS
Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $22-$24/hr + shift differentials and potential for pay increases
Shift: Multiple
Fri-Mon (6a, 7a, 9a start times)
MTW (9a start) & Th/Fr(6a start)
Wed-Sun (530a, 9a start time)
Responsibilities and Key Duties
- Set up and turnaround of all process equipment
- Work with chemicals, steam and pressurized vessels
- Operation of batching vessels, filling machines and capping machines
- Perform environmental monitoring during aseptic procedures
- Use aseptic technique during processes
- Operate general production equipment such as autoclaves, pumps, scales, particle monitors, etc.
- Prepare solutions
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of laboratories and equipment
- Assemble batching and filling equipment for use in processes
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Document and maintain activity records according to cGMP regulations
- Maintain an effective working relationship with others
- Utilize acceptable PPE and follow safety procedures
- Perform all other duties assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, required, Associates degree in a life-science field is a plus
- Experience in a cGMP environment is preferred
- Excellent writing and communication, interpersonal and organization skills
- Good self-discipline and attention to details
- Must follow proper documentation procedures
- Must be able to work both independently and in a fast-paced team environment
- Must have flexible work hours and be willing to work outside of normal, scheduled hours as needed
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated basic mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Visual inspection
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, stretching, repetitive motion and reaching above shoulders
- Lift up to 25 pounds frequently; 50 pounds occasionally
- Daily dressing and operating in clean room required garments
- Frequent repetition of wrist and shoulder rotations
- Frequent repetitions of squatting, bending and twisting
