Business Development Manager (Life Sciences / Fermentation / FoodTech)
Remote – Preference for candidates based in North Carolina or RTP area
Salary: Competitive + growth potential up to Director level
Salary: $80,000-$100,000/year

About the Role:
We're seeking an ambitious and strategically minded Business Development Manager to drive growth for a rapidly expanding life sciences company specializing in fermentation, agricultural, and food technology. This individual will start by managing and closing business development deals, with a clear growth path toward becoming Director of U.S. Operations and building out a BD team.
Key Responsibilities:

Identify, engage, and close new business opportunities within fermentation, ag-biotech, and food tech markets.

Build and maintain long-term client relationships, with a focus on RTP and broader U.S. life sciences networks.

Develop strategic partnerships and support company expansion into increased facility and operational scale.

Collaborate cross-functionally to align business goals with technical capabilities and customer needs.

Lead sales negotiations and manage the deal-closing process from proposal through execution.

Contribute to company visibility and reputation within the biotechnology, fermentation, and agricultural technology sectors.
Qualifications:

2–5 years of proven success in business development, account management, or sales within life sciences or related technical industries.

MSc or advanced degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of the RTP (Research Triangle Park) biotech ecosystem and key industry players.

Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to grow into a leadership role as the U.S. BD function scales.
