Chemist 
Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group Kelly OCG , a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Chemist for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Jacksonville, FL. This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. As a Kelly OCG employee you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and a variety of other benefits to choose from. You ll also be eligible for paid time off, including holiday, vacation and sick/personal time. All Kelly OCG employees receive annual performance reviews. As a Scientist placed with Kelly OCG you will be responsible for the following: Subject matter expert within the Analytical Chemistry department.
Length of assignment: One year may extend 
Shift: Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm
Pay: $28-35 Depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine test analysis of raw materials and leachable contact lens components using validated test methods with HPLC and GC instruments under GLP guidelines.
  • Analyze, review, and report data using Empower, Chromeleon, and LIMS systems.
  • Run non-TM methods for raw materials, solvents, and impurities analysis using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques, including QCRMs and CRMs.
  • Engage in Appearance and FTIR ID testing related to raw material release as needed.
  • Utilize analytical techniques such as LC/UV/ELSD, LC/MS, and FTIR.
  • Receive and organize samples in the lab.
  • Prepare and analyze samples and standards according to indicated Test methods or instructions and CRMs or QCRMs methods.
  • Set up instrumentation for analysis as required.
  • Process data and develop reports via Empower, Chromeleon, and Labware LIMS.
  • Perform OOS/OOT analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Communicate internally and with external partners to verify, update, or report results.
  • Support validations through testing and data analysis based on validation protocols.
  • Support protocols via testing and data analysis.
  • Follow approved SOPs for services provided.
Education and Requirements
  • BS Chemistry degree required 1-5 years
  • Quality experience preferred (GLP/GMP/QA)
  • Hands-on chromatography experience required (both HPLC and GC)
  • Mass spectrometry experience &/or knowledge is a plus
  • UV/VIS and FTIR experience
  • Undergrad research or internship is a plus if a recent graduate
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) and professional mannerism is a must
