Claims Examiner
About the Role
Kelly® is seeking an experienced Claims Examiner – Workers' Compensation to join our team supporting a leading insurance organization. In this position, you'll analyze and manage complex or high-exposure claims, ensuring accurate adjudication, compliance, and cost-effective resolutions. This role combines analytical skill, empathy, and strategic thinking to deliver excellence in claims management.
Location: Remote or Onsite (U.S.)
Employment Type: Full-time Contract
Pay Rate: $50 – $52 per hour (based on experience)

Analyze and process complex or technically difficult workers' compensation claims by investigating and gathering critical information.

Develop and execute effective action plans to bring claims to a timely, appropriate resolution.

Assign, monitor, and adjust claim reserves to maintain accuracy throughout the claim's lifecycle.

Approve and issue benefits payments, settlements, and claim adjustments within authority limits.

Prepare required state filings in compliance with statutory guidelines.

Manage litigation, coordinate vendor referrals, and ensure cost-effective claim resolution.

Identify opportunities for subrogation and recoveries, including excess and Social Security/Medicare offsets.

Maintain detailed claim documentation and ensure correct coding.

Communicate professionally with claimants, clients, and internal stakeholders, providing status updates and support.

Education: High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum 3+ years of relevant workers' compensation claims experience (5 years preferred).

Certification: Active California Adjuster Certification required.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of workers' compensation principles, laws, and best practices.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and claims management systems.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational abilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
