Position Title: CNC Machinist
Department: Machine Shop
Location: Fenton, MO
Reports To: Production Supervisor - Machine Shop
Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt Available Shifts:
- 2nd Shift:
- Monday - Thursday: 3:15 PM - 1:15 AM
- Monday - Friday: 3:15 PM - 12:15 AM
- Monday - Thursday: 3:15 PM - 11:15 PM, Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Weekend Shift:
- Friday - Sunday: 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Set up, operate, and adjust a variety of CNC machines.
- Use precision measuring devices to ensure accuracy.
- Work independently from drawings with minimal instruction and supervision.
- Understand G and M Codes for CNC machinery.
- Set and sharpen tools as needed.
- Troubleshoot machines, set speeds and feeds appropriate for various materials, and perform minor repairs.
- Maintain responsibility for the quality of parts produced.
- Strong math skills and the ability to read blueprints, work instructions, SOPs, and other technical documents in English.
- Physical ability to lift 35 lbs. regularly.
- Proficiency in monitoring gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure the machine functions correctly.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-directed with a proactive approach to learning new maintenance skills.
- 2-3 years of experience in CNC machining.
- Hands-on mechanical aptitude with a strong problem-solving mindset.
- Familiarity with HAAS, Okuma, and/or MAZAK CNC machine centers.
- Experience with CNC lathes, Davenport, or ACME is a plus.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, oils, and chemicals in a loud manufacturing setting.
- Standing on concrete throughout the shift.
