Description

CNC Programmer (Hartville, OH) Our client, a manufacturer of Ambulatory and Safe Healing technologies, mostly for spinal applications (fusion and other orthopedic procedures, implant designs, etc.), is currently hiring a CNC PROGRAMMER- This role is a new role created to lead and own operations of new CHIRON DZ12S Five Axis machine. This person will bring vital skills to the team maintaining quality standards, meeting production deadlines, and minimizing operational costs across production.

This is a new company and a very young team, a perfect set up would be models that had no issues, but that's not the environment here- they need a very, very versatile, “master-level” CNC programmer - someone with deep expertise who can handle complex setups, troubleshooting, and training others.

About the role:
Mentor potential - the hire should be able to teach younger engineers and less experienced programmers.
Someone with a proven track record of delivering accurate, high-quality parts.
Proficient in Mastercam (SolidCAM/Solidworks might also work).
Ability to program from incomplete or messy prints/models and adapt to unique machine setups and work without on-machine simulation.
Strong communication skills to bridge gaps between engineering and machining.

The engineering team is young and new; drawings (prints) and 3D models often aren't fully ready or accurate, so there's a lot of back-and-forth communication to clarify things, the right person needs to have the level and analyst and communication skills to navigate this.

The CNC machines used are unique, they run on Fanuc controllers and do not have simulators on the machine itself (they do use Mastercam with a simulator on the computer - but this is different from having an on-machine simulation). Their equipment can be finicky, so experience with troubleshooting and adjusting for machine quirks is important.

Key Responsibilities:
Operate and program five-axis CNC machining centers, specifically the CHIRON DZ12S Five Axis.
Utilize CAM software to generate and optimize tool paths.
Set up and calibrate machines, including adjusting fixtures, tools, and workpieces.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, and software-related machine issues.
Work with FANUC CNC controls, including robotic automation integration.
Maintain machine accuracy through regular calibration and spindle monitoring.
Ensure efficient and precise machining of complex components.
Work with a remote team for technical support.
Complete all required documentation.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Utilizing various kinds of inspection equipment and hold tolerances of +-.0005.
Continuous improvement practices to help workflow and minimize scrap.
Teamwork and communication to ensure scheduling efficiency and on time deliveries.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong CNC Programming experience. 5+ Years CAM programming preferred, MASTERCAM would be a huge plus.
Knowledge of FANUC CNC controls and robotic automation (Fanuc controllers).
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Working with small parts.

Preferred Qualifications:
Working in the Med device industry (Implants) Familiar with ISO13485.
Programming Titanium for the Med device industry.
Experience with CHIRON CNC machining centers or similar high-end manufacturing equipment.
Background in robotic automation and part handling systems.
Strong knowledge of FANUC CNC controls and robotic automation (Fanuc controllers).
Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues in CNC machinery.
Working with small parts.
Machining Titanium.
Programming Titanium Bone Plates for the Med Device Industry.
Experience with CHIRON CNC machining centers or similar high-end manufacturing equipment.
Background in robotic automation and part handling systems.
Experience with high-precision, complex component machining.
Knowledge of coolant systems, spindle monitoring, and fixture washing.
