Validation Scientist

Kelly Science | Contract Opportunity

Contract Length: 6-18 months
Location: Roseville, MN
Pay Rate: $35–45/hour

Position Summary

Kelly Science is seeking an experienced Validation Scientist to support validation activities across both R&D and commercial manufacturing in a cGMP-regulated environment. This role will play a key part in supporting significant growth on the R&D side while continuing to support routine manufacturing operations.

The Validation Scientist will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and executing commissioning, qualification, and validation documentation for new and existing systems, equipment, processes, and utilities. This position will also support facility and utility validation efforts, including the implementation and validation of a new water system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support commissioning, qualification, and validation activities in a cGMP-regulated R&D and manufacturing environment

  • Prepare, review, and execute validation documentation for:

  • Manufacturing and R&D processes

  • Materials and raw materials

  • Equipment and facilities

  • Cleaning procedures

  • Computerized systems and software

  • Support project teams with:

  • GMP impact assessments

  • User Requirement Specifications (URS)

  • Traceability matrices

  • Design Qualifications (DQ)

  • Risk assessments

  • Participate in validation activities related to:

  • New or transferred manufacturing process validations

  • Cleaning validations

  • Facility and utility validation, including water systems

  • Design and execute pre-validation studies to support validation strategy and execution

  • Assist with troubleshooting process issues, process characterization, and root cause investigations

  • Support deviation, change control, CAPA, and investigation activities related to validation execution

  • Manage multiple validation priorities to support aggressive project and manufacturing timelines, with guidance from leadership

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree required

    • Minimum of 3–5 years of qualification and validation experience in a regulated industry

    • High attention to detail with strong technical writing and documentation skills

    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a growing validation team

    Preferred Experience
    • GMP R&D validation experience

    • Facility and utility validation experience, including water systems

    • Material qualification

    • Process validation

    • Computerized system/software validation

    • Experience supporting both R&D and commercial manufacturing environments

    Skills & Competencies
    • Strong problem-solving skills with sound, risk-based decision making

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
