Description

Kelly Science is currently hiring a temp-to-hire Quality Assurance (QA) Technician for an ingredient manufacturing company in NE Portland, Oregon.
 
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for assisting in the administration of the Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs within the warehouse, production and laboratory areas. The Quality Assurance Technician will assist with data entry, statistics, environmental program, HACCP, QA SOP and document control, as well as support production and laboratory duties that need attention. Quality Assurance Technicians will work hands on and performing quality control requirements as needed.
 
Shift: Day 5 am start time, 8 hour shifts
 
Pay Rate: $21-25/hr
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Testing raw materials, blends and packaging to assure Safety, Quality and Consistency
  • Auditing of production area
  • Review and log pre-shipment samples for approval
  • Assist in providing customers with requested samples, documentation and maintain records
  • Maintain lab supplies and cleanliness
 
Knowledge/Skills
  • Must be very organized and prioritize time well
  • Must have meticulous attention to detail
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs are essential
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Able to handle shifting of priorities to accommodate customer needs
  • Must work well independently and as a team player
  • Understanding of basic science including microbiology and math 
  • Knowledge of Food Science, HACCP and GMP a plus
 
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to complete a HACCP certification within 3 months of hire (company pays for certification program)
  • 1-2 years of GMP manufacturing quality assurance or quality control experience; preferably in food manufacturing
