Machine Mechanic/Maintenance
DIRECT HIRE
Location: Dayton, Ohio
Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday) + OT on weekends
Pay: $35 per hour

Kelly is currently seeking Machine Maintenance Mechanics to support our Dayton, OH facility. Our plant produces a diverse product line, including both aerospace and non-aerospace products. The CNC Machine Mechanic will be responsible for machine repair across the plant on diverse equipment. This role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and aims to minimize machine downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and other information to diagnose equipment problems
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machines, equipment, and controls.
- Work under general supervision to maintain manufacturing and facilities equipment to achieve world-class efficiency targets.
- Conduct Lock Out Tag Out processes and communicate machine status.
- Work on equipment in confined spaces.
- Handle oils, greases, and other industrial waste materials.
- Document equipment downtime root causes and corrective actions.
- Use and document activities in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Research machine issues using manuals, technical documents, and internal/external resources.
- Identify needed maintenance equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Request and expedite orders for parts and materials related to maintenance.
- Perform other job duties as assigned, including general facilities maintenance.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience repairing machine tools with and without CNC controls, or an associate degree in machine repair.
- Ability to maintain all types of manufacturing and facility equipment.
- Experience repairing CNC-controlled machine tools, including lathes and milling machines.
- Detailed knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to repair mechanical power transmission devices, gearboxes, and precision spindles.
- Basic understanding of electrical control devices and single/three-phase AC voltages up to 480 volts.
- Basic understanding of servo-controlled devices and components.
- Working knowledge of computers and networking equipment/systems.
- Ability to read/interpret technical documents, including:
- Manufacturer operation, installation, and troubleshooting manuals
- Equipment mechanical, electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic drawings, diagrams, and schematics
- Plant building piping, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection system drawings/diagrams and schematics
General Work Environment:
- Operate shop power tools; perform machining, cutting, grinding, and welding as needed.
- Ability to climb, kneel, and stoop as required to repair machines.
- Able to work at heights and safely handle hazardous chemicals.
- Utilize lifting devices (hoists, cranes, forklifts, chains, slings, etc.) to repair large components.
- Work on ladders, scaffolds, and pits.
- Ergonomically lift up to 50 pounds.
