Director of Operations - Sparta, NJ
*Milling Operations Lead*
$100,000 to $150,000 Annually

Role and Responsibilities This role will be responsible for managing the operations team in the milling department in an AS9100 machining facility in accordance with the master schedule set forth by the planning team. The focus of this role will be on aligning human capital resources while competing with multiple priorities and variables. This role will be critical in ensuring the safety, quality, and delivery across the machining centers.
- Manage a team of direct labor including but not limited to machinists, operators, setup operators, shipping, receiving, and part marking.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and variables when scheduling direct labor
- Must demonstrate a sense of urgency on adherence to master schedule and holding team accountable for their performance to the schedule
- Escalate any nonconformance, delay in production to schedule, or other personnel issues affecting the ability of the operations team to maintain schedule
- Key participant in sales, planning, and operational process in developing collaborative master schedule
- Ensures operation team completes required training and other tasks associated with qualification to operating machine centers
- Collaborate with engineering and quality departments to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve any issues impacting production
- Minimize waste and cost and adheres to safety and quality standards as defined by the business
- Implement work center cleanliness best practices and maintain cleanliness best practices after implementation
- Manage and drive continuous improvement projects as assigned
• Preferred experience in aerospace machining specifically milling
• Ability to identify non-conformities and develop rework paths
• Develop training materials and performance plans for subordinates
