Kelly is hiring an Electrical Journeyman for a Fulltime role with one of our prestigious clients based out in Anchorage, AK 99518 (Onsite).
Job Title: Electrical Journeyman
Location: Anchorage, AK 99518 (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift Schedule: 8 am – 5 PM
An Electrical Journeyman installs, repairs, and maintains electrical systems, components, and fixtures for residential, commercial, and industrial clients by reading blueprints, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to safety and building codes. Key responsibilities include performing installations, conducting inspections and testing, making repairs, documenting work, and ensuring all tasks are completed safely and efficiently while following local and national standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Install new wiring, light fixtures, electrical panels, motors, and other electrical components and apparatus.
- Maintenance: Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, wiring, and equipment.
- Code Compliance: Ensure all installations and repairs comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and OSHA safety standards.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications to understand electrical system layouts.
- Testing & Inspection: Test and inspect electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for repairs or adjustments.
- Equipment Operation: Safely use a variety of hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and specialized testing equipment.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in various settings, including residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.
- Journeyman electricians may work independently or as part of a team, often traveling between job sites.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program.
- State-issued electrician's license or certification.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding electrical diagrams.
