Job Posting: Entry-Level Manufacturing Plant Mechanic
Location: Pooler, GA
Compensation: $26/hr
Duration: 3 Month Project Assignment
Start Date: ASAP
Position Summary:
We are looking for an entry-level Mechanic to join our team for a short-term project in Pooler, GA. This role involves assisting in maintaining the efficiency of our machines and tools, preventing malfunctions, and ensuring product quality. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced technicians and learn through hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, and service activities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow industrial safety practices and regulations.
- Assist in investigating operational errors and supporting corrective actions.
- Learn and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Support diagnostics, lubrications, changeovers, overhauls, and emergency repairs on machines.
- Help with preventive maintenance and accurately document all work performed.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and help prioritize repairs.
- Participate in developing maintenance plans using CMMS / SAP systems.
Requirements:
- Basic technical skills; diploma preferred but not necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments.
- Willingness to learn and occasionally travel for training purposes.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Previous experience or interest in the manufacturing or similar industry is a plus.
- Interest in learning troubleshooting techniques, including pneumatic/hydraulic and plant systems maintenance.
Experience:
- Any experience in maintenance or manufacturing is beneficial.
Skills:
- Basic understanding of blueprints and shop drawings.
- Organizational, reading, writing, and basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to learn and work with standard trade tools and machinery.
