Onsite – Montezuma, GA

Cold Storage | Food Logistics | USDA-Regulated Exports

My client is seeking a USDA Export Documentation Specialist to support operations at their Montezuma, GA facility. This is a mission-critical role responsible for coordinating and preparing all USDA, FSIS, and international export documentation for outbound food-grade shipments. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, deadline-oriented, and experienced with the USDA's PHIS platform and cold chain logistics.

This is a 100% onsite position due to the sensitive nature of regulated documentation and real-time coordination with USDA inspectors, warehouse teams, and freight forwarders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process USDA/FSIS export documentation (e.g., FSIS Form 9060-5 Health Certificates)
  • Manage PHIS (Public Health Information System) entries and monitor documentation status
  • Schedule inspections and resolve issues in partnership with USDA/APHIS/FSIS inspectors
  • Liaise with internal logistics staff, freight brokers, and international customers to ensure document readiness
  • Confirm accuracy of product data, including lot codes, weights, storage temps, and container numbers
  • Maintain organized compliance records and submit all required documentation in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any documentation issues or rejections to avoid shipment delays

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience handling USDA export documentation (PHIS, FSIS forms, health certificates)
  • Familiarity with cold storage, protein exports, or USDA-regulated food logistics
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Experience

  • USDA, FSIS, or APHIS training/certification
  • Previous experience with poultry, beef, or protein exports
  • Understanding of documentation requirements for exports to the EU, Asia, or Middle East

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Occasional after-hours coordination may be required based on USDA inspections or urgent freight schedules
