What's a typical day as a Extractor/Wash Technician You'll be:
- Inspecting and verifying crabs for injuries and unresponsiveness prior to blood extraction.
- Extracting blood from racked crabs using a 12-gauge needle and collecting it into bottles for laboratory delivery.
- Performing daily housekeeping duties including cleaning walls, floors, and tables.
- Ensuring proficiency in all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining documentation as required by company policy, cGMP, and FDA.
- Adding prepared washing solution to containers, agitating thoroughly, and centrifuging materials to separate desired contents.
- Assessing and measuring materials, adding sterile water, and agitating tubes as necessary.
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- Are entry-level and eager to gain experience in a laboratory setting.
- Have the physical ability to perform tasks requiring full range of motion of arms and upper body.
- Are comfortable working while standing and using hands in a repetitive manner.
- Can meet the vision requirements necessary for close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Are able to work in environments involving protective clothing, sharp objects, caustic chemicals, and biohazards.
