We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fabricator I to join our team. As a Fabricator I, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fabricated parts using various fabrication equipment. Under general supervision, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the production of top-notch fabricated parts that meet our quality standards. Job Specifications: Job Type: Fulltime Location: Portage, MI 3rd shift – Sunday – Thursday (Friday morning) 9:45 pm – 6:15 am $18.50/hr Roles and Responsibilities:
- Operate fabrication equipment such as drill press stations, weld nut stations, saws, and other basic fabrication equipment and tooling.
- Conduct inspections using the required inspection equipment and follow relevant gage plans.
- Troubleshoot problems that arise with work center and parts.
- Clean parts as required.
- Set up, prepare, fabricate, and clean up work area.
- Ensure compliance with preventative maintenance schedules for machine centers.
- Adhere to QSR/ISO procedures/policies, customer service goals, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping in accordance with company specifications.
- Demonstrate a commitment to quality by continuously seeking ways to enhance performance and meeting all training and documentation criteria.
- Adhere to all Stryker Quality Systems.
- Ability to meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends.
- Proficient in reading and understanding procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English.
- Strong verbal communication skills in English.
- Adherence to safety practices, including good housekeeping and ergonomics.
- Willingness to undergo workplace organization and follow training procedures, including crosstraining and teamwork.
- Stamina to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
- Propensity to speak up and address safety and quality issues.
- Ability to learn new processes, systems, and equipment.
- Proficient in documentation, team concepts, and basic preventative maintenance.
- Strong teamwork skills, including the ability to work in a diverse setting and resolve conflicts.
- Motivated to grow, learn, and progress to the next level in skills through crosstraining opportunities.
- Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to operate basic fabrication equipment.
- Quality training and experience in incoming part quality, gage plan completion, and proper part loading.
