Description

Kelly Government Solutions is a strategic supplier and business partner to the federal government and its key suppliers.  Through our partnership with the National Institutes of Health, Kelly Government Solutions offers administrative, IT, engineering, scientific, and healthcare professionals the opportunity to work with the leading medical research center in the world.  We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to support research protocols at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the NIH in Bethesda, MD.  This role will be performed Monday-Friday during standard business hours at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD.  

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall: 
(1) Provide direct patient care by performing history and physical examinations on patients on a research protocol with infectious and allergic diseases.
(2) Provide guidance on National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and NIH policies and procedures of patient care.
(3) Provide appropriate patient and family counseling and education with consideration of the patients learning needs, learning readiness and impediments to the process.
(4) Admit a variety of pediatric and adult patients to the NIAID Inpatient unit.
(5) Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies.
(6) Provide backup and support to the Infectious disease consult service nurse practitioner and NIAID Ward team fellow.
(7) Actively participate as a member of the NIAID Ward Team, taking patient care assignments in conjunction with the residents to ensure safe, effective care.
(8) Work with and orient residents-in-training and fellows to provide care for NIAID inpatients.
(9) Serve as a liaison providing coordination and communication between NIH institutes and NIAID components to ensure continuity of care.

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:
(1) Minimum of master's degree in nursing
(2) Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner or a combination of experience as an Adult or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
(3) Active, current registration as a professional nurse in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
(4) Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (ANCC) or a combination of Adult and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certifications
