Job Title: EHS Senior Manager
Location: Durham NC
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm onsite in Durham
Role Overview
The EHS Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations at the RTP facility. This includes managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHS programs across manufacturing, quality control laboratories, utilities, and administrative offices. The position reports to the Site Head and works closely with senior management to ensure safe, compliant operations and drive strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.

Collaborate with regulatory agencies and business teams to balance compliance with operational needs.

Provide guidance on worker safety, fire safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection.

Lead risk assessments and implement corrective actions to minimize injuries and environmental impact.

Oversee recordkeeping and metrics for OSHA and other EHS-related data.

Investigate incidents and near misses to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.

Lead safety and environmental committees to align company-wide efforts.

Manage EHS training and promote a culture of learning and safety.

Support emergency preparedness, business continuity, and incident response planning.
Qualifications
-
15+ years of professional experience, with 10+ years in EHS support for vaccine/biologics manufacturing.

8–10 years of experience managing teams and building talent.

Preferred certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).

In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, and FDA.

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
