General Ledger Accountant
Location: Carver, MA
Pay Rate: $36-38/hour
Schedule: 40 hours/week
Position Summary
Kelly Services has partnered with a premier company in search of a General Ledger Accountant to join their team. Our client has been in business for over 40 years and has an entrepreneurial spirit and looking to continue to build. This candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in weekly check runs
- Prepare and process monthly closing journal entries
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Ensure an accurate and timely quarterly close
- Supervise quarterly trial balances and account reconciliations for management review
- Produce quarterly financial statements and maintain monthly closing binders with audit support
- Work with the CFO to facilitate the annual audit process
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and system features to enhance the workflow of the department
- Monitor and process credit card transactions
- Process weekly payroll entries
- Prepare pre-paid insurance reconciliation
- Perform accounts receivable reconciliations and collections
- Other accounting duties as assigned
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Accounting required
- 3-5 years of relevant corporate accounting experience
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise required
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Paylocity payroll software is a plus
