Hardware Engineer
 
Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Hardware Engineer for direct hire position at Tier 2 automotive client in Northville, MI. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.  

Overview 
 
Our client is a North American startup of an established Asian Tier 2 automotive supplier. Their focus is on climate control and lumbar systems for automotive seating. They are searching for an experienced Hardware Engineer that can take existing designs and improve product functions.
 
In this role you'll improve upon existing hardware & PCB designs to allow cooling fans to run quieter, require less power, and are overall more efficient. You will collaborate with a global team of internal Project Managers, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and prototype hardware for heating, cooling, lumbar/massage functions for automotive seating.
  • Select hardware components
  • Circuit design including worst case analysis & simulation
  • Schematic design, PCB layout design, design for EMC
  • Prototyping of PCBs and hardware
  • Creation of documentation for DVP, DFMEA, etc.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering required
  • Prefer 8+ years embedded hardware product design experience in either automotive, aerospace, or medical device
  • Proficient in circuit design & simulation, schematic design, PCB layout
  • Working knowledge of communication bus hardware such as LIN, I2C, SPI
  • Proficient with any PCB layout tool, prefer Altium will consider Orcad
  • Proficient with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Familiarity with product/project launch cycles with the automotive industry
