Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineer with expertise in tool and die making. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating tools and dies using tool steel and carbide, along with performing operations such as grinding, heat-treating, and lapping. This role requires holding close tolerances and using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture tools and dies to precise specifications using tool steel and carbide.
  • Perform grinding, heat-treating, lapping, and other tool-making operations.
  • Set up and operate equipment necessary for tool and die making processes.
  • Fabricate jigs, fixtures, and special tools such as broaches, radius tools, drills, cutters, and lapps.
  • Ensure close tolerances are met in all fabrication tasks.
  • Assemble, repair, and rebuild tools, dies, and fixtures according to specifications.
  • Assist with maintenance repair work as needed.
  • Pull tooling from the Tool Crib and record transactions when Tooling Support/QA Team Member is unavailable.
  • Inspect work to ensure quality performance and adherence to standards.
Qualifications:
  • Journeyman papers or equivalent qualifications required.
  • Proven experience in tool and die making, with proficiency in grinding, heat-treating, and lapping.
  • Strong ability to hold and work within close tolerances.
  • Expertise with precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Skilled in the fabrication and assembly of jigs, fixtures, and special tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality performance.
