We are seeking an In Vivo Research Associate for a Research Vivarium Facility in Mountain View, CA. This role offers the potential for a full-time position, with the intention to transition into a Vivarium Manager role.

• Position Type: Temp-to-Hire (6+ months)
• Location: Mountain View, CA
• Pay Rate: $35/hour (DOE)

Job Summary Overview:

We are looking for an In Vivo Research Associate to coordinate and perform clinical and surgical procedures on various species housed in the vivarium. This role requires specialized skills in animal husbandry for a range of animal models, including rodents, rabbits, and pigs. The selected candidate will work closely with the Attending Veterinarian and Director of Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform clinical and surgical procedures, including blood draws, intubation, anesthesia, and IV catheter placement in rodents, rabbits, and swine.
• Oversee animal husbandry, documentation, and rodent breeding colonies.
• Monitor and maintain colony health.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and operate laboratory facilities and equipment.
• Work occasional holidays and weekends, as required.
• Manage digital and physical databases related to animal care.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with laboratory animals (mice, rodents, rabbits, swine) and performing routine procedures.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in a research vivarium setting.
• Ability to maintain and monitor colony health and husbandry protocols.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment maintenance and facility operations.
