Description

Position: Inbound Warehouse Material Handler Location: Kentwood, Michigan
Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Morning 1st Shift: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm – M-F

Role Description: Your main responsibility is to efficiently move packages and goods using powered equipment such as pallet jacks, pacers, or forklifts. You will transfer items from trailers, containers, or railcars to loading docks and warehouse storage areas. Familiarity with S2K systems is beneficial. The role includes sorting and managing inbound freight before passing it to the 2nd shift team for order fulfillment.

Tasks:

  • Safely operate motorized equipment (OSHA certification available).
  • Read and understand labels and breakdown sheets.
  • Work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Utilize scanners for organizing pallets.
  • Attach pallet labels and categorize products by description or UPC code.
  • Secure items by shrink wrapping or taping to ensure pallet stability.
  • Report any discrepancies or damages.
  • Keep your work area clean and adhere to safety practices.

Requirements:
  • Ability to lift between 50-70 lbs.
  • Willingness to work on weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Comfortable with typical warehouse conditions (such as varying temperatures and noise levels).
