Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
? North Smithfield, RI
? $27–$30 per hour - pay is negotiable for the right candidate
? Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Voluntary OT Available

Our client is a leader in reclaiming and refining precious metals from industrial byproducts, serving a wide range of industries including aerospace, medical, electronics, and automotive. We're looking for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to support our production operations and equipment reliability.

What You'll Do

As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic, you'll support plant operations by:

  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery and facility systems

  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues and assisting with necessary repairs

  • Supporting facility projects, shutdowns, and improvements in coordination with department leads

  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, cleanly, and in accordance with company standards

  • Assisting with outside contractor oversight and maintenance documentation

  • Operating and maintaining tools and equipment including welders, forklifts, test meters, hydraulic tools, and more

  • Participating in safety programs and maintaining a clean and orderly workspace

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
? 1–3 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent training
? Familiarity with tools such as welders, torches, electrical test equipment, and power tools
? Ability to read schematics, follow safety procedures, and perform physical tasks
? Strong communication, organization, and troubleshooting skills
? Forklift certification and valid driver's license preferred
? OSHA 24-hour training (or willingness to obtain)

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This is a hands-on, industrial facility role. You'll need to:

  • Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs)

  • Work around fumes, loud noise, and moving machinery

  • Use PPE including respirators, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection

  • Stand, climb, kneel, and reach as needed throughout the shift
