Inventory Control Associate Needed!
Location: Cortland, NY
Hours: M-F 7:30-4:30
Job Type: Full-time
Rate of Pay: $25/hr.
Position Summary:
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of materials in and out of the facility to ensure timely delivery, accurate inventory control, and compliance with customer expectations. This role plays a vital part in receiving, shipping, and inventory/material control processes, involving both manual and clerical responsibilities. The coordinator also supports the manufacturing workflow by performing planning, scheduling, coordinating, and reporting tasks while ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in all functions related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
- Verify and inspect incoming materials for accuracy and quality; stock items and update inventory systems accordingly.
- Prepare and package materials for outbound shipments to central warehouse or third-party carriers.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the shipping/receiving areas.
- Accurately document incoming and outgoing materials and maintain detailed records.
- Operate pallet trucks, lift trucks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Identify and report any quality issues related to incoming or outgoing shipments.
- Maintain tools and equipment used in the materials process.
- Comply with all safety procedures and regulations at all times.
Measures of Performance:
- On-time delivery of goods to internal and external customers
- Achievement of departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Demonstrated collaboration and individual performance in team environments
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in warehouse or inventory management is a plus.
- Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory roles preferred.
- Proficient in using inventory management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks as needed.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive work attitude.
