Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Lab Manager for one of our clients who are establishing a new animal farm laboratory, in Houston, TX.

The Lab Manager will spearhead the launch and operation of our client's new animal farm laboratory. This role is instrumental in enhancing their research capabilities and requires a leader skilled in managing complex service operations, team leadership, and operational efficiency.

Essential Duties:

• Spearhead the layout and establishment of the laboratory, aligning with our research goals while adhering to budgetary and timeline constraints.
• Formulate strategies for equipment acquisition, management, and utilization.
• Recruit and lead technical support staff, providing training on operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Oversee administrative tasks, budgeting, and inventory management.
• Manage the care and ethical treatment of animal colonies, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master degree in a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in a leadership role within production, manufacturing, or service operations, preferably as a Supervisor, Manager, or Associate Director.
• Strong managerial skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Familiarity with QA/QC, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, LIMS, and JIT manufacturing is beneficial but not mandatory.
