LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
ROTATING SCHEDULE
 Kelly Services has provided outstanding employment opportunities to the most talented individuals in the marketplace for over 60 years. Today, Kelly Services is searching for an entry level long-term contract Laboratory Technician to join the team at a Fortune 500 Chemical Company in Baytown, TX, to perform products technology testing.
Responsibilities
Perform standardized routine analyses by diligently following written procedures 
Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and associated computer systems Produce SQC charts and identify abnormal results when they occur 
Work under the technical direction of a Laboratory Leader Develop / document / revise laboratory procedures
Interface with clients Operations when necessary 
Maintain data collection records and transfer data to computer systems 
Ensure raw material and finished product quality through quality control testing and compliance to site quality assurance procedures 
Maintain and calibrate equipment systems to support the testing process Review test methods for compliance to industry standards 
Maintain LIMS and data management systems Provide timely and accurate data to optimize site manufacturing efficiencies 
Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory standards for health, safety and environmental requirements through the adherence to all safety and OIMS programs.
Requirements
Associates Degree in science related discipline or at least two years or related experience degree
Must have one year work experience which requires high level of multi-tasking skills Must be able to understand and follow written procedures 
Must have a basic understanding of polymer tests, including melt index, density, and film appearance 
Must have a basic understanding of computer systems and networks 
Must have basic mechanical skills 
Must be able to work shift work 
Must be dependable and available for call-out and overtime work 
Must have good verbal and written communication skills, and be able to accurately record/ transcribe data 
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision 
Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods of time 8 hours 
Must be able to lift/move cylinder s weighing approximately 5 to 15 lbs. 
Must be able to repair and maintain lab equipment 
Must have extensive knowledge of lab equipment and computer systems 
Must have knowledge of plant/site operations to optimize and prioritize special requirements 
Ability to obtain and interpret data of the analysis
