Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a full-time Laboratory Assistant I for one of our partners located in St. Louis, MO. Position Details- Job Type: Contract-to-Permanent (conversion between 6–12 months)
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | On-site
- Target Pay Rate: $24–26/hour
As a Laboratory Assistant I, you will support daily operations within a regulated bioanalytical laboratory environment. This is a hands-on role focused on supply management, equipment support, cleanliness, and safety.
You will work closely with laboratory, quality, and safety personnel to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient lab operations. The position involves routine physical activity and general laboratory upkeep.
- Receive and distribute incoming materials and packages to appropriate departments.
- Maintain laboratory supply inventories and track usage.
- Perform routine laboratory cleaning and assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Support proper function and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Assist with safety-related tasks, including biohazard and chemical waste organization and disposal preparation.
- Escort vendors, inspectors, and service technicians while ensuring compliance with site visitor protocols.
- Document supply usage, equipment checks, cleaning activities, and maintenance tasks in accordance with quality standards.
- Label, package, and transport samples, reagents, and kits under supervision.
- Participate in lab safety audits, cross-training, and team meetings.
- Perform other routine tasks as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in a research or clinical laboratory environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regulated setting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and data entry platforms.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of biosafety policies and procedures.
- Experience working with human biological specimens (e.g., blood) is a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and lift laboratory supplies and equipment as part of daily responsibilities.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with laboratory cleaning, maintenance, and material handling.
