A global diagnostics company is seeking Laboratory Assistant Processors based in north Austin, TX with state-of-the-art laboratory.
Job Summary
The Lab Assistant Processor is an essential member of the laboratory operations team, responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of clinical specimens and associated documentation. This role provides critical support to the Clinical Laboratory Scientists and Technicians by ensuring all samples are properly received, logged, tracked, and prepared for downstream molecular testing procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to communicate cross- functionally as required to inform of found errors and/or updating LIS.
- Correctly identify all necessary information on a test requisition form.
- Match information on the test requisition form with information in LIS for accuracy.
- Properly collate all paperwork received with the specimen and review/identify discrepant information
- Identify correct documentation and procedures for missing or discrepant information.
- Demonstrate proper use of proprietary software.
- Ad-hoc projects as directed by the team leader(s)
- Work with team to resolve missing information, data discrepancies and any other issues related to sample processing in the lab.
- Sort and prepare all paperwork for scanning; scan all paperwork.
- Archive and file all paperwork
- Record data and organize documentation
- Assures information is delivered in a manner that is supportive, timely and understandable
- Assures patient privacy is maintained at all times.
- High School Diploma/Equivalent or Associate/Bachelor's degree in related field
- 1-3 years' experience in related field
- Laboratory Assistant/Accessioner training
- Experience handling patient/clinical samples
- Familiar with operating a centrifuge
- Stable work history
- Laboratory Information System training
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel
- Data- Entry, QA/QC experience preferred
- Tuesday-Saturday Work Schedule: 9:30am-6:00pm
- $24 per hour
