Description

Lab Technician – Westminster, CO

Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: M-F 8a-5p
Pay Rate: $20/hr


Key Responsibilities

  • Safety and Environmental Stewardship: Perform all tasks prioritizing safety, environmental stewardship, and best operating practices.
  • Copper Leaching and Material Preparation: Experience with copper leaching, column testing, and material preparation (including crushing, screening, splitting) is preferred but not essential.
  • Lab Operations: Operate lab equipment, instruments, and systems following standard operating procedures and supervisor directives.
  • Data Management: Make detailed observations, record data meticulously, and contribute to technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
  • Lab Maintenance: Conduct column leaching tests and other metallurgical lab processes. Wash and sterilize glassware, equipment, and tools to maintain a clean and organized lab.
  • General Lab Support: Organize supplies, clean workstations, dispose of waste safely, perform routine maintenance, and assist in equipment and instrument repairs.
  • Team Support: Aid lab technicians and scientists with routine tasks, including material preparation and equipment setup.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior laboratory experience is preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and willingness to perform repetitive tasks positively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills and ability to perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Communication: Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions and troubleshoot problems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform tasks requiring standing, sitting, manual dexterity, and climbing stairs. Must wear personal protective equipment as required.
