Job Title: Laboratory Technician (Contract)
Rotating Shifts Required – 4 ON 3 OFF
Location: Beaumont, TX

  Position Summary
The Laboratory Technician will support and assist the laboratory supervisors and chemists in conducting routine and non-routine laboratory analyses, wet chemistry, and analytical work on process and product samples. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality and supporting refinery operations through accurate testing, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine laboratory analyses (wet chemistry and instrumental) on in-process and final product samples to support refinery operations and ensure product quality.
  • Calibrate and maintain analytical and testing equipment according to established procedures and schedules.
  • Prepare, label, and manage samples in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure traceability and data integrity.
  • Utilize analytical instruments to identify and resolve quality assurance/control issues.
  • Prepare chemical stock solutions, reagents, and analytical standards in line with laboratory requirements and quality standards.
  • Accurately record, verify, and report analytical results, ensuring compliance with quality control protocols and refinery safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to laboratory practices, safety, and data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and chemists to troubleshoot analytical issues and support plant operations as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Considered: Equivalent technical background in Chemical, Process, or Technical Engineering with relevant laboratory experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data recording and reporting.
  • Previous experience in quality control systems within a chemical, petrochemical, or refinery environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced operational environment.
