Job Title: Laboratory Technician – Analytical Development
Location: Houston, TX
Rate: $28/hr. + benefits

Position Overview
Reporting to the Senior Scientist, Analytical Development, the Laboratory Technician plays a critical role in ensuring analytical activities align with product development timelines across the product pipeline.
This role performs routine sample testing in accordance with standard operating procedures to support Process Development activities and process transfer to manufacturing. Success in this role requires strong laboratory skills, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing start-up environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and works effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the molecular biology team under the direction of the Senior Scientist
- Perform routine assays for product characterization, in-process monitoring, and stability testing
- Execute assays including, but not limited to:
- ddPCR titer assays
- qPCR assays for residual host cell or plasmid DNA
- Alkaline DNA gels
- Additional assays required to meet evolving regulatory requirements for gene therapy products
- Assist with preparation and procurement of raw materials and consumables
- Support inventory management, equipment cleaning, and waste disposal
- Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, including lab notebooks and electronic records
- Follow and help ensure compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and regulations
Qualifications
- BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in an academic laboratory or biotech/pharmaceutical environment
- Basic understanding of bioprocessing, assay execution, and troubleshooting
- Experience with ddPCR and/or qPCR is preferred
