Description

We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our team, specializing in the operation and setup of solid and open die headers, including progressive type headers, thread rollers, and other equipment associated with heading operations. This role is crucial for producing critical engineered parts with precision and ensuring high production integrity.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate solid and open die headers, thread rollers, and other related equipment.
  • Perform dimensional inspections, including contour tracing, profile tracing, and critical radii tracing.
  • Inspect engineered parts for seams, scratches, cold shuts, chevrons, and any defects affecting fatigue.
  • Balance material flow and maintain volume control to ensure proper flow-lines are achieved.
  • Interpret macroscopic surface non-conformities and material flow defects.
  • Master cold forming trimming operations to maintain high production standards.
  • Suggest tooling for new types of work and participate in progression layout development.
  • Contribute to tool life improvements and quality advancements.
  • Perform high-volume TM duties and participate in box/container making, washing, packaging, and labeling.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and inventory for transported and stored items.
  • Make minor fixtures, parts, and accessories to facilitate setup; assist with equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Conduct frequent inspections using proper gauges to ensure quality production.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with heading operations and related machinery in a manufacturing environment. (5yrs experience)
  • Strong understanding of tooling requirements and the ability to suggest improvements.
  • Skilled in various inspection techniques to ensure production quality.
  • Ability to perform and assist with minor and major repairs on equipment.
  • Excellent analytical skills for interpreting material flow and surface defects.
  • Commitment to maintaining high production integrity and safeguards.
