Description

Maintenance Supervisor – Chicago Heights, IL
Pay: $90,000 - $115,000
Schedule: Weekend Only | Friday – Sunday | 7:00am – 9:30pm

Lead the Team That Keeps Production Running
We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor who leads by doing, not just directing. This role owns equipment reliability, mentors technicians, and ensures our facility runs safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food manufacturing standards.
If you're a natural problem solver, skilled technician, and team leader who leads from the floor, this is your next opportunity.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, train, and mentor maintenance technicians through a hands-on coaching approach
  • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and urgent repairs to maximize uptime
  • Oversee installation, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and facility utility systems (electrical, HVAC, air, gas, water, etc.)
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical systems (PLC, VFDs, 110/230/460V, motors, starters, pneumatics, hydraulics)
  • Manage CMMS work orders, track parts inventory, and maintain accurate maintenance records
  • Collaborate with Production, QA, and cross-shift leaders to prioritize repairs
  • Drive a culture of safety, GMP compliance, and food quality standards
  • Monitor maintenance spending and support budget planning
  • Ensure technicians remain productive, even when production lines are fully operational
  • Uphold SQF, USDA, and OSHA compliance standards across the facility

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of electrical/mechanical maintenance experience in food manufacturing
  • Strong troubleshooting of PLC, VFDs, motors, controls, and 3-phase power
  • Leadership experience or proven success developing and training technicians
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems
  • Ability to repair rather than delegate — must be willing to turn wrenches
  • Strong communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Ability to manage priorities, parts, and cross-department coordination
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical training or degree a plus
  • Must provide own hand tools

Why You'll Love It Here
  • Competitive pay plus vacation benefits
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Health, vision, dental, and life insurance coverage
  • Safe, clean, USDA-regulated production environment
  • Training, skill development, and career advancement opportunities
