Manufacturing Assembly Technician
Hillsboro, Oregon
Hourly Pay Starts: $19/hr W2
Full Benefits + Paid Time Off
Mon - Fri, 8am – 5pm

Summary: Assemble laptops, notebooks, desktops, servers, and workstation systems, as well as server racks, which will ship to client sites worldwide. Unpack and de-trash systems/components for incoming work orders. Perform visual inspection of all components prior to build. Report quality and assembly issues to Planning, Engineering and leadership teams. Assist Engineers with reviewing and updating documentation of best-known methods (BKM's). Work will be performed in a closed lab and ESD protected environment. Expect to participate in lab clean-up activities along with other production employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Cable/Wire Management (identify, label, route/manage all ports, power, and switches)
    • Servers (easy difficulty)
    • Desktops (intermediate difficulty)
    • Workstation (4U Pedestal) (difficult)
    • 4U Multi Processor Super Server (difficult)
    • Racks (up t37 servers) (extreme difficulty)
  • Provide feedback/proposal to Engineers for documenting best known methods.
  • Full system builds from empty chassis (desktops, servers, and workstations).
  • Partial system builds from semi-finished chassis (laptops, notebooks, desktops, servers, and workstations).
  • Build open chassis prototype laptops.
  • Assemble open and closed 16U t42U server racks (add casters, all internal components, cable management).
  • Conduct quality checks as directed for assembled product.
  • Update to latest BIOS revision (as needed for refresh systems).
  • Unpack and de-trash incoming work orders.
  • Special Projects (builds that require customer unique modifications).
  • Kitting (labelling various components and creating kits for end user).

Qualifications:
  • Previous assembly experience.
  • Familiar with PC hardware and assembly.
  • Familiar with the PC and application software.
  • Experience with small parts assemble and ability to follow instructions.
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
